The Lorain, Ohio assembly plant was where Thunderbirds and Cougars were created for many many years.   A major portion of the plant was closed back in '97 and the remainder of the plant that made Econoline vans was closed several years after that.  I was in northern Ohio recently driving along Route 2 east of Cleveland and decided to get exit briefly to visit the plant to see what things looked like today.

The place looked like a ghost town.  The parking lot was getting severely overgrown and all the bushes and trees around the plant had not been maintained in years.  It was frankly pretty sad to see this plant going to waste after it had been such a hub of activity for so many years.  I had several opportunites back during the plants production days to see cars being made and it was an exciting place to be back then.  Anyway, I thought everyone may enjoy seeing these pics of the Lorain Assembly plant as it is today.
