Super Coupe Performance now offers polyurethane rear shock mount kits for all 1989 - 1997 Thunderbirds and Cougars. Two kits are offered, ARC and non ARC. The 1989-1995 Super Coupe and '89-91 XR7 uses the ARC (automatic ride control) while the other V6 and V8 cars used the standard rear shocks (non ARC). Both kits replace all the rear shock bushings, on both sides, with polyurethane for better handling and response.
These kits will fit all the aftermarket Thunderbird/Cougar/Mark VIII non ARC shocks.
NOTE: If you have a Lincoln Mark VIII, be aware that these are not a direct replacement as you will have to reuse your existing upper shock mount. Click on THIS LINK for Installation Instructions for this item on your Mark VIII only.
NOTE: The Mark VIII original shocks have a slightly larger rod diameter than the rear shocks SCP sells. These bushings will fit the original shocks but you will have to enlarge the inside diameter of the metal sleeve we provide. Clamp the sleeve in a vice and drill out the sleeve a bit for clearance. To avoid this task you may want to buy our shocks, especially if your originals have greater than 100K miles on them. See the "Related Items" link to find these shocks easily.
